Alisa Rachelle Jones

Alisa Rachelle Jones, of Fort Worth, Texas, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 56. Alisa’s passing was unexpected, and occurred after a short battle with a devastating illness.
Alisa was born on December 11, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Dwaine Jones, and to Shelli Mitchell Jones. Alisa grew up in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. It was a wonderful, carefree time to be a kid. She loved playing outside with her sisters and the neighborhood kids. Alisa was the baby of the family, and she knew it. She was a colorful and expressive child from a very early age, and very much enjoyed entertaining her family. In essence, she was a ham! Flamboyant is a word that very much describes Alisa’s personality.
At the age of 18, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be near her father. She met Fred Brown there whom she later married, and moved to the Washington State coast area where they lived for a short time until they later divorced. She then moved back to the Nashville area, and then to Atlanta, Georgia where she lived most of her adult life.
In 1992, she had her son, Austin Mullis, who was the joy of her life. Her life was very much centered around raising her son as a single mother for many years. She worked as a bank teller and manager at Bank of America for 12 years. She attended college classes over a period of time in the evenings, where she majored in, of course, theatre. She acted in many plays, which she enjoyed so very much. Although she did not obtain a degree due to her duties of working and raising a child, she was very well read and very well spoken, and held her own in any setting.
In 2011, Alisa encountered some health issues, which ultimately disabled her. She moved to the Fort Worth, Texas area to be near family. She grew up in the church as a child, and after moving to the Lake Worth, Texas area became very involved in her church home, The Abbey. Alisa participated in many groups that were sponsored by The Abbey. She had a huge, giving heart, and particularly had a heart for helping the elderly and others in need. She gave as much as she could, despite her disabilities, in her last years of life, all the while entertaining her family and friends, and never complained of the pain and medical problems she was experiencing.
Alisa loved the Lord, read her Bible and listened to sermons daily. She was hardworking, talented, strong, loving, caring, and such a fun person to be around. She will be greatly missed by many, and her friends and family are blessed to have known her.
Alisa is survived by her mother, Selma Shelli Mitchell of Edmond, OK, her son, Michael Austin Mullis, of Cartersville, GA, her granddaughter River Mae Rose Mullis, and her sisters, Rejina Linn Janes, Rhonda Denise Wyatt, Dana Renee Wheeler, and Daisy Susanne Jones. She is preceded in death by her father, Harlie Dwaine Jones.
Alisa, you passed away far too soon for us. But our Heavenly Father decided to take you home, and we know that you are no longer suffering. We know you are dancing in heaven now, and singing your heart out. Dance and sing away dear sister. We shall see you again one day, and for that we are comforted.
