When it hurts or makes you sad it shows us how special someone really is. Carter is special and I carried him in prayer even after his fight was over. He reminds me of Casting Crowns I’ll Praise You In This Storm.

And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm.

I praise God for Carter and his family. We love you guys.

Juan, Rachel, and Peyton,
This just breaks my heart. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Carter. I know the Hope that springs eternal in your heart, but I also know the excruciating pain that has invaded your very being. Pain that is so unspeakable. My prayers for you are that you are able to accept ALL the grace coming your way and that step by step, you’ll be able to move forward (not move on) someday soon. I’m comforted knowing that perhaps Colleen and Amy are teaching Carter how to play pinochle and looking for a fourth player to round out the foursome.
I love you guys,

You don’t know me, but I’m the Occupational Therapist at Carter’s school. I would see him from time to time, smiling, talking with friends, acting like any other normal 4th grade boy:). Im sorry that I did not get to know you or him more, but I do know that God is definitely loving on him and has given him an important job to do in Heaven! Oh what a great one Heaven has gained! My prayers will continue to flow for you and your family! Many blessings to you and yours! With the greatest sincerity, Lori Calicott

What a gift it was to know Carter! I had such a great time hanging out with him at Lighthouse. I loved seeing him tell his jokes during the talent show. His smile is one of a kind and he shared this smile in the midst of tremendous obstacles. We can all learn something from him. He will be missed greatly. May the Lord comfort all our hearts as we grieve the loss of this special young man.
