MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Denise was born Friday, September 26, 1958 to the late Winfred (Jack) and Iva Raney in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Riverside High School, Class of 1977. She loved her family and always took care of the girls and now taking care of her granddaughters and having everything ready before they went to school. Denise loved taking boat rides in Corpus Christi and seeing the dolphins and loving to watch the girls reactions when they saw them. It made her happy to see them happy. One of her favorite times of the year was Christmastime. The family loved to go to Six Flags (Holiday in the Park) and she would always ride the rollercoasters which she loved. Denise loved decorating, shopping, animals and taking care of the grandchildren. She never met a stranger and loved meeting new people which she would get acquainted with. Her favorite color was red so it would be great if everyone would wear something red in her honor for her memorial service. I only knew Denise as my sweet neighbor for seven years. In that time, I saw how much she loved her family—Scott, her daughters and her grand babies. She always had a helping hand offered to me and a kind word from our front porches or the driveway. Her hot stew during this year’s horrible winter storm was a huge blessing, and just an example of her thoughtfulness. I miss her smiling face.
My prayers are with her family, working through another tough loss; I hope they find healing through the pain and memories of good things shared, and beauty and peace to come.
Love and God bless – Chrissy
