This sweet lady will be missed! We hadn’t seen each other since our high school years, but we reconnected on FB and it was so nice catching up with each other. Devra was still the kind and positive person I remembered from high school, and she always had uplifting words for everyone. I am so sad that she endured illness, but I know she is rich in the love her family and friends have for her. Rest In Peace Devra!

I was born into a large, loving, extended family with lots of cousins, Devra was one of those very special cousins that I stayed close to through the years. I remember babysitting with her at Aunt Louises House when I was about 12 or 13. Lots of good memories through the years. We’ve had our cousin get togethers for a long time as often as we could get together. We usually had a gift exchange, didn’t matter if it was a $5.00 gift, we always had a blast. Since we can’t be with the family like we would like to at this very sad time because of the Coronavirus, we will have our next cousin get together in memory of our sweet Cousin Devra. She’s gonna be missed so much by so many. RIP Sweet Cousin.❤️

Awww my sweet friend. You will truly be missed. I remember when you spent a night when we played ball together during our pre teens. What a beautiful memories of us staying up late and having to make sure when didn’t get in trouble by my Dad. We had to get up and play that softball game and we was so sleepy but we made it through. We had a blast.

Devra found me on Facebook about 3-4 years ago. She recognized a photo of our son Blaine somewhere, and then, having correct spelling of our unusual last name, looked me up. We lived down the street from Devra and her family for about five years, from 1971-1976, in a then-new Forest Hill subdivision. I was a stay-at–home mom, and kids were always at my house, so we met Devra and all her siblings. My children were Blaine and Kim…in 1976, after we moved, Jonathan was born. We are long retired and most of my pictures are stored at Kim’s, but I know I have photos of Devra/siblings at birthday parties, etc. I can locate them later if anyone should want copies. I felt rather honored that, after all those years, she found me. We sold our home and live/travel in RV, so are not in area part of the year. Tried to meet her at Whataburger once, but something came up and she could not make it. Sure wish I had gotten to know her better as an adult. She was a cute, polite little girl who was always welcome at our home.

I found Devra’s obituary today and am sad that she’s passed on. She and her mother Cheryl attended my mother’s funeral in August 2020. I have many fond childhood memories of Devra and Tami and their grandparents, who were our neighbors. My favorite memory of Devra is when she’d had her hair cut pixie style and I decided to “correct” her bangs with my mum’s kitchen shears.
My heartfelt condolences to Cheryl and the family for their loss of gentle and dear Devra.
