Dusty was born Tuesday, December 2, 1952 to Bobby and Margaret Draper in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended and graduated from O D Wyatt High School and then attended Tarrant County Junior College. He worked for M & M Manufacturing-D.O.T. coordinator, Tersco Wholesale HVAC Company-Warehouse/Distribution Manager, Wilson Molds, Rollins Truck Leasing, AJF Trailer Leasing, Hudgins Truck Leasing and the City of Fort Worth.
Dusty loved Junior drag racing with his grandkids, drag racing with Cody, teaching drag racing classes for kids, fishing on weekends with friends and their kids, traveling all over the country with Carla and the girls and Carla’s parents with their ceramic mold company attending trade shows.
He also loved watching NASCAR with Travis when he was young. He was also a perfect match to be a stem cell donor for Cody 10 years ago. There is less than a 15% chance of finding a perfect match for stem cell donors. Dusty was a wonderful, fun loving son, husband, father, “Pa”, brother, uncle, and friend and we will miss time with him being with the family that he so loved.
Dusty is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Draper; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 38 years, Carla Draper; father, Bobby Draper; daughter, Sharla Smith; daughter, Jennifer Bell and husband, David; brother, Cody Draper and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Travis Bell and wife, Brandy, Cora Bell and Thomas Bell; great grandchild, Niklaus Bell; niece, Chelsea Draper; and numerous friends.

I worked with Dusty 39 years ago when he was with Tersco and later when he joined us at M&M.
He was always cheerful and smiling and he was very good the trucks and drivers and all the DOT management.
Dusty was a good friend and I’ll miss him.
