NORTH RICHLAND HILLS-Edward “Eddie” Owens passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at the age of 69.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to IEC Fort Worth/Tarrant County, Eddie Owens Scholarship Fund, 5809 E. Berry Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76119.
Edward Phillip Owens was born Sunday, July 16, 1950 in Brady, Texas to the late Alvin and Mary Owens. Eddie graduated from Brady High School in 1969. He began his electrical career in 1973 with Dodd’s Electric. He moved to Fort Worth in 1989 and worked for Harter Electric where he worked until joining his son, Coty at Coty Owens Electric where he spent the remainder of his career. He served on the IEC committee for several years in Apprenticeship and Training. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking and restoring old cars. Eddie was a beloved dad, friend and mentor. He cherished his family and friends. He was a great cook, avid hunter and a genuine “car guy”. He was a man of conviction who believed what he believed, felt what he felt and always stood firm.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Owens; and brother, Daniel Alvis Owens.
Survivors: Son, Shane Owens and wife, Denise; daughter, Jill Owens; son, Coty Owens and wife, Beth; son, Clay Owens; sister, Wanda Rennie and husband, Bill; grandson, Logan Owens; granddaughter, Keairra Owens; grandson, Justin Owens; grandson, Tucker Owens; granddaughter, Kaity Mae Owens; granddaughter, Jacey Owens; grandson, Khyston Carroll; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; five step grandchildren; and many special friends, buddies and colleagues.

Shane, Jill, Coty, Clay, Wanda, and extended family members. Dayna and I extend our sincerest condolences to each of you on your recent loss. Eddie was a great father, brother, man, friend, and cousin. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and fondly remembered as each day passes.
