Elaine was many things to many people. To many she was the kind and generous neighbor, a blessing to those she lived around. Others saw the talented painter, sharing her love of arts and crafts. A sweet and wonderful friend who spoke kind words about others. She had the heart of a missionary, wanting others to know about Jesus. She was an entrepreneur and interior designer. She loved being in and near the water. She had the gift of hospitality, hostess events, parties and get togethers. She was an Elvis fan. She enjoyed worshipping and singing to the Lord. She was a devoted prayer warrior, who interceded for her family and others. She loved giving encouraging, uplifting words through texts, phone calls and Facebook.
To her family she was sister, mom, Mimi and great-Mimi, Aunt Elaine and cuz. She was the one who gave them the love for eating Oreos, putting peanut butter on waffles and pancakes, cooking, painting, playing games, and swimming. Elaine was always looking for a new adventure, whether that was a new outfit, a new car, a new house or a new address in another state. She once made the comment, “I love going on vacation, I just take all my stuff with me!”
To the heavenly Father she was His child because she had a relationship with his son Jesus. He was her comfort in times of sadness, joy in times of sorrow, and peace in times of turmoil. Jesus was her source of wisdom, advocate for justice, and intercessor before the Father.
Elaine has made her last move and we know exactly where she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Sherman Richards and Evelyn Jeanette Richards and daughter Leslee E. Buchanan.
Survivors: Brother, Douglas S. Richards, Jr.; daughter, Tena R. Walker and husband, Van; daughter, Kimberly K. Tabola and husband, Ron; daughter, Lisa G. Taylor; daughter, Elizabeth J. Garrett; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

My sweet friend,
Words written above fit mom beautifully. Many many fond memories on Starling Circle. God gifted her you & you me. When I’d see her thruout the years, it was like we picked up right where we left off. I can still hear her saying….”Well hello Darlin.” Always made me feel special. I will miss Mom Elaine. I love you.

I did not meet Elaine until after a DNA test showed we were related. It was 2007 when we first met and I found her to be a sweet, kind, and fascinating person. Since I lived in Michigan, I only got to see her in person a handful of times. But we kept in touch through Facebook and an occasional phone call. I was shocked when I first heard of her passing. May she rest in peace.

My sincere condolences and prayers to Elaine’s family. Though there may be sorrow in her passing on earth, there is joy in heaven, knowing she has met her creator. I can see her dancing and singing with the angels, and painting the beautiful skies and sunsets that our Lord adorns us with. The next time i see purple skies sparkled with a dash of glitter, i know it will be Elaine saying hi to her friends at PAINT & PRAY. Rest in heavenly paradise Elaine, over flowing in God’s love…

We have such fond memories of Elaine and had just reconnected with her on Facebook in the last few years. She was always warm, welcoming and full of the Holy Spirit. We know she is no longer in pain and is rejoicing around the Throne of God. We send our deepest prayers and condolences to you, Tena, Kim, Lisa and Elizabeth and ask that Father God continue to surround you with His peace and constant reminder that this is only temporary and we will see Elaine’s joyous face and smile again one day.
Love & Blessings Always,
Tena
