Florine Walker Woods

Woods Florine Obituary

Florine Walker Woods was born January 16, 1941 the third child of Rachel (Adams) and Joseph Walker in Marshall, Texas. The family moved to Fort Worth while Florine was a small child. She attended Como Elementary and Junior-Senior High Schools. She was a Charter Member of the Lake Como Church of Christ.
She worked at Monarch Laundry and Pangburns Candy Company before finding her place as an employee for Ben and Kay Fortson for more than fifty years.
She had a way of doing everything with a unique flare and distinctive grace that was hers and hers alone. In many ways she was often imitated, but never duplicated. She loved to decorate and her yard was a beauty to behold.
Florine entered Eternal Rest on Thursday, July 7, 2022. She is survived by: daughter, Sylena Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Talford (Laura) Thompson of Altadena, California; three grandchildren, Jarrett (LaToya) Stevens; Talford James Thompson and Lauren Sylena Thompson; four great grandchildren, Jalen, Kendall, Langston and Lexington; sister, Patricia Walker Durst; maternal aunt, Hattie Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Richmond Avenue Church family.

Praying for you Sylena and the Family. Your mother graced the world with her beautiful and infectious smile. As we all know 2 Corinthians 5:8 say’s to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She’s in good hands still smiling and watching over you all. She has no more pain. She has gained her wings and a new home.❤️❤️
