Jonnie was born Dec. 24, 1920, Christmas Eve, in Dallas to Oscar and Marie Bradford. Her family moved to Fort Worth when Jonnie was a young child. She resided in Fort Worth until she suffered a stroke in 2010 and then moved to Arlington. Jonnie worked as a model in her early years. She was also a beautician at a shop owned by her mother. In her later years, she managed a beauty salon at Seminary South until she retired. For several years after her retirement she worked different events including the Stock Show.
Jonnie was a member of the Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. She was a past high priestess of Nyanca Count #34. She loved the Shrine and gave her heart to the Shrine for many years. Jonnie enjoyed the lifelong friendships in the Shrine. She was headstrong and knowledgeable of the Shrine. That could make her a force to be reckoned with at times. She always supported the Children’s Burn Hospital.
Jonnie was proud, independent and strong. She did not consider herself old, just slowing down a little. She and her smile will be missed.
Jonnie was preceded in death by her husband, William Ramsay; her parents, Oscar and Marie Bradford; and her two younger brothers, Ray and Neal Bradford.
Survivors: Daughters, Brenda Richardson, and Judy Clark, her caregiver; granddaughter, Jill Burrows and husband, Christopher; great-granddaughter, Emily Burrows; and her favorite niece, Stacey Bradford.
