Michael Dean Burgess

BOWIE — Michael Dean Burgess, 68, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Saturday in Brown, Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Michael was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Fort Worth to the late Walter and Viola Burgess. Michael served and fought in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend and he had a great love for fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Eric Burgess.
Survivors: Sons, Michael Burgess and wife, Carol, Shain, Burgess, and Matthew Burgess and wife, Monica; daughters, Kialie Martin and husband, Michael, and Shaunda Butler and husband, Steven; six grandchildren; brother, Wesley Burgess; sister, Linda Downum and husband, George; and many other extended family members and friends.
