Albeza L. Wagman, known as “Alice” to her friends and colleagues, passed away August 24, 2022 at the age of ninety. She was born on the Santa Rita Ranch, the second daughter of Rosenda and Leonel Longoria. Her kindness and love for her family became an outstanding character trait that lasted her lifetime.
Education was highly valued in the Longoria family, so after graduation from Falfurrias High School, she enrolled in nursing school at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Upon graduation as a registered nurse, she met her future husband, Robert, also known as “Bob.” While working as an obstetrics nurse in Pennsylvania and Texas, she and Bob went on to have three children, Albert Joseph (Joe), Paul Andrew (Andy) and Cindy Marie.
After moving to Graham, Texas, Alice began working for the school district as the only school nurse. She covered all of the schools from elementary to high school, caring for over a thousand students. With her tremendous heart, she also found time to help support students in need, with clothing and medical needs, that she obtained from local retailers and the medical community. She was also a translator for the local hispanic community. After twenty plus years as the school nurse, she retired and continued to dote on her family.
Alice is survived by her husband, three children and their spouses. She was adored and known as “Abby” to her eight grandchildren and great-grandchild. Interment will be held at the Longoria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Leukemia Texas (leukemiatexas.org) on her behalf.
