FORT WORTH-Antonia Y. Mendoza passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the age of 86.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 with a rosary at 6 p.m.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 12:30 TO 3:30 AT Selena’s Ballroom, 4401 Cole St., Fort Worth, Texas 76115
INTERMENT: Antonia will be laid to rest in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
Antonia was born June 13, 1936 in Groesbeck, Texas to the late Ynes Ybarra and Maria Hernandez Ybarra. She worked for Koslow’s Fur as a very talented seamstress for more than twenty years. She was an active member of Y.M.C.A. for fifteen years. She loved sewing, crochet, gardening in her own yard or Fairmount Neighborhood Garden. She collected roosters, Barbie dolls and loved to watch wrestling on Friday nights. Antonia had tenacity, grit, style, a sharp mind and quick wit. She was the most caring person you could ever meet. Loving matriarch to her large family. She was a well loved community member of Fairmount Neighborhood and will be missed.
Antonia is preceded in death by her parents, Ynes Ybarra and Maria Hernandez Ybarra; husband of 37 years, Herminio Mendoza; sister, Bonifacia Resendez; brothers, Pete Ybarra, Paul Ybarra, Nicholas Ybarra, Soloman Ybarra; sisters ,Mercedes Ybarra and Agapita Barelo.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, Andres (Lillie) Ybarra, Refugio (Dorthy Ranke) Ybarra; sisters, Dolores (Fausto) Meza, and Juanita Guillen; daughter, Ufemia M. Elizondo; daughter, Francisca Mendoza; daughter, Mary (Ricardo) Galvez; daughter, Susie (Gilbert) Campos; daughter, Jesusa (Ramon) Razo; son, Jose (Alicia) Mendoza; daughter, Margarita (Rigo) Baltazar; daughter, Elena M. Mercado; daughter, Antonia (Reuben) Gomez; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends.
