Barbara Ann Deaver

November 3, 1941 — September 22, 2023

Barbara Ann Deaver, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023, surrounded by her four children.

Barbara was born in Cleveland, OH. She married Paul Richardson in 1962, had four children, and traveled throughout the United States.

Barbara was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. She dedicated her life to her four cherished children -- Christine, Joanne, Debra and Mickey -- who were her pride and joy. She instilled in them the values of love, kindness, and the importance of family bonds which will be her enduring legacy.

She is survived by her four children, and their spouses, Mark Smith, Mark Bobbitt and Jerry Posey. She had six grandchildren, Brian, Stephen, Timothy, Benjamin, Megan and Haley and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and David.

Barbara had a passion for the culinary arts. Her kitchen was her sanctuary where she would prepare mouthwatering homemade dishes that brought warmth and togetherness to every meal. Her children have fond memories of walking in from school to the aroma of homemade bread, stews, casseroles, cookies and more. When she brought covered dishes to social gatherings, everyone would ask her for the recipe.

After divorcing Paul later in life, she married Don Deaver, with whom she shared a love of the holidays and family gatherings.

She loved to collect knick knacks, books and music. A passionate interest in biology, Barbara often said she should have been a doctor and surgeon. Her children often called "Dr. Mom" for advice. She loved popular and classical music, especially the waltzes of Dutch violinist and conductor Andre Rieu. She also loved dogs and walking in the park.

Barbara also had a passion for science fiction and often used favorite phrases: Live long and prosper. May the force be with you. This is the Way. I have spoken.

A strong woman of faith, Barbara believed in Jesus Christ as her savior and looked forward to the next world where she would meet him and loved ones. Honoring her wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
