FORT WORTH — Betty Jean Lake passed away peacefully Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the age of 85.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, in Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brown, Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Betty was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Benjamin to the late William “Bill” and Maude Snody. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. She taught elementary school for more than 20 years. Betty was a pastor’s wife and a true servant of God and a great mother and grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Lake; nine siblings; and one great-granddaughter, Destiny Marie.
Survivors: Daughters, Rebecca Jean Glass and Sally Marie Mahle; sons, Clyde Eugene Lake Jr. and Paul Lewis Lake; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
