Betty Carol Walker Miller, 77, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Baton Rouge, LA.
Betty Carol was born on August 13, 1947, to Lewis Paul Walker, Jr. and Mary Ann Driggers Walker in Monroe, LA. After graduating from Castleberry High School in 1965, Betty went on to attend North Texas University, graduating with a BS in ED in 1969 and later obtained her Masters in ED from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Miller taught for over 30 years for Mesquite ISD, Ennis ISD, and Fort Worth ISD. She retired from Carter Park Elementary, where she specialized in gifted and talented education. Betty was a devout Christian, and her hobbies included photography, sewing, cooking, and playing the piano.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis P. Walker, Jr. and Mary Ann Driggers Walker; sisters, Donna Eddins and Jeannie Marsh; and son, Paul Wesley Tipton.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jim Miller (married 32 years); son, John Tipton; daughter Kristen Shugart (Robert Todd); step children, Chris Milker (Jana) and Lauren Bostick (Travis); sister Paula Chalk (Rev. Mike Chalk); brothers-in-law Burt Eddins and Larry Marsh; grandchildren, Taylor Catoir (William), Ashleigh LeMaire (Matt), Chad, Ryan, and Troy Tipton, and 2 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, TX on January 28, 2025 at 02:30 pm. in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Iris Domestic Violence Center in Baton Rouge, LA.
