BURLESON–Beverly Jean Cottrell Dunn, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
Celebration of life: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment: Beverly will be laid to rest in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Beverly was born April 9, 1927 to the late John and Leonora Cottrell in Puyallup, Washington. She met her husband of 71 years, Vernon, on a blind date in Oakland, California while he was stationed there in the US Navy during WWII. They married a short time later on November 11, 1945. In 1950, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas to raise their family. Beverly was always busy at home raising her children. She spent her free time serving in many capacities the churches they attended, from working in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, cooking church dinners and singing in the choir. She enjoyed the many mission trips she took with her churches and being able to share Jesus with others.
Husband, Vernon Dunn; son, Steve Dunn and wife, Georgia Ann; daughters, Bonnie Shahan and husband, Richard; Susan Beaman and husband, Curtis; sister, Susan Crowther; sister in law, Dolores Rix; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
