Bill Chitwood

FORT WORTH — Bill Chitwood passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the age of 91.
Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Saturday at Wedgwood Baptist Church, 5522 Whitman Ave., Fort Worth, with Dr. Al Meredith officiating.
Bill was born Nov. 30, 1922, to the late Omer Eugene and Josephine Elba Chitwood in Atoka, Okla. He proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Bill was an artist, teacher and principal. He became a leader in development of composite materials during his long career at General Dynamics. Bill was a member of Wedgwood Baptist Church for many years. He was a loving and well-respected father and grandfather who will be missed by us all.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jennie Chitwood; and daughter, Virginia Lee Crabtree.
Survivors: Daughter, Alethea Lewandowski and husband, Michael; son, Robert Chitwood and wife, Sue; son, Billie Chitwood and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Johnny, Randy, Tammy, Darla, Roger, Doug, Anne, Justin, Aaron and Sarah; and numerous great-grandchildren.
