FORT WORTH – Billy Ray Pelt passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at the age of 71.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Friday, August, 2, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel
Billy was born 1 of 5 children in Waco, Texas on Friday January 23, 1948 to the late Floyd and Retha Pelt. He and his late wife, Joallan, met as children when they were only 10 and 11 years old. They later married in 1966 and were together for 46 years, until Joallan’s passing in 2012. They eventually moved to Fort Worth, where Billy spent most of his life as a truck driver. Anyone who knew him well knew he loved his “sody pop”, his dogs and most of all his family. He especially loved all of his grandchildren and more than once “got in trouble” for spoiling them a little too much. He was residing in Palestine, Texas with his niece, Melinda McLen, and brother-in-law, Donald Willis, at the time of his death. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Retha Pelt; wife, Joallan Pelt; Brothers, Floyd Pelt, Jr. and Douglas Pelt; Sisters, Betty Willis and Ann Farmer.
Survivors: Daughter, April Wheeler and husband, Shane; daughter, Paula Whitmire; grandsons, Ritchie Whitmire and Jordan Wheeler; granddaughters Kari Whitmire, Devyn Wheeler, Sarah Whitmire, and Trinity “Mike” Whitmire; great grandsons, Robbie Hampton and Seamus Fagan; many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
