Bryan Keith Elwood
October 25, 1968 – March 10, 2022
Arlington, TX – On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Bryan Keith Elwood, loving son, brother, and uncle, went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 53.
Bryan was born October 25, 1968, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Keith Elwood. He graduated from Arizona Automotive Institute in 1989. He was employed as a Mechanical Designer for Steelcase for over 10 years before briefly venturing out to be an independent contractor. He was then employed as a Senior Engineer for Merit Medical for over 10 years. Bryan never worked a day in his life as he truly loved his work of research and design. During his years with Merit Medical, Bryan created medical devices that saved many lives and impacted countless families.
Bryan was a kid at heart and enjoyed the little things in life. He loved food, music, reading, research, his art of computer aided drafting and 3D design, and he collected Walkmans, computer parts, and tiny calculators. Bryan loved kids, especially his niece, nephew, and younger sister when she was a child. He knew how to make an adventure out of even the simplest experience. Oh, the fun he could make out of a field trip to QT for a slushee at midnight. He was a patient teacher and loved seeing the wonder in a child’s face when they learn or experience something new.
Bryan mastered everything he put his mind to. From Super Mario Bros to electric guitar, from calculus to the science of gears and computer aided drafting. When he practiced, he could play Van Halen’s Eruption perfectly and he knew every secret trick within Super Mario Bros. Bryan would read a Calculus book for fun and did research on topics most would never think of. He studied every day of his life and yet he never thought he had gathered enough information. If it was important to him, he was going to master it. He was the smartest person many who loved him had ever met.
Bryan truly loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed praying and fellowship, especially with his mother. They had long talks as often as possible and enjoyed many meals together in fellowship. Bryan loved time with family especially over a good meal. The size of his heart could never be questioned.
Bryan is survived by his mother Margie Ann Elwood, his father Roger Keith Elwood and wife Patty, his brother Roger Jason Elwood and wife Bonnie, his sister Kristin Renee Taylor, his nephew Calvin Jacob Elwood, his niece Megan Alexa Scott, and his niece Markayla Renee Gilbert.
We are grateful to all of the friends and family for their outpouring of love, support and prayers during this time.
