Cinda Irene Lewis earned her angel wings on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to be with her husband, James Lewis, and their son, Billy Lewis in heaven.

Irene was born  Saturday, November 16, 1935 to her parents, Omer and Ruby Freeman in Dover, Arkansas.

Family members that have preceded her in death are her parents, Omer and Ruby Freeman, her husband James Lewis, their son Billy Lewis, her brothers Charles, Dwain, Larry, her sisters Hazel, Claudia, and Katie.

Irene leaves behind to honor her and to cherish her in loving memory are her daughter Phyllis and Connie; grandson Bryan Sleeman; granddaughter Christy Ellsworth; great-grandson Bryan Robert Sleeman; great-grandson Ashton Ellsworth; great-granddaughter Cheyenne Pina; great-great-granddaughter Skylinn; granddaughter Somer Rojo; son-in-law Rick Allenbrand; and grandson Dakota, his wife Trista, and great-grandson Finley.

Irene went by her name, Cinda, growing up as a young girl  with her family in Arkansas. In the early twenties, she went by Irene, her middle name.

She grew up in the hills of Arkansas as a young girl who helped and worked with her mom and dad, her sisters, and her brothers in the cotton fields and picked cotton as a family to provide for the family.

In 1951, at the age of 16, Irene met her future husband, Bill Farmer. Soon after they met, he got drafted into the Army and was deployed to the Korean War. She told him that she would wait for him to return from the Korean War. When he came back from the war, Irene and Bill Farmer got married in October 1952. They had two daughters, Phyllis and Connie. In 1954, they moved to Texas for the opportunity that her husband got to work on the ground level floor of the new General Motors plant in Arlington, Texas.

Irene was a stay-at-home housewife and mom who took awesome care of their two daughters while her husband worked at General Motors.

In 1963, 10 years down the road, Irene and Bill divorced and went their separate ways in life. In 1964, they both remarried to other individuals.

Irene work at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas from 1963 to 1978 as a quality control inspector. She worked in the harpoon missile department.  She retired after 15 years of service of dedicated service at Texas instruments. Soon after retirement, Irene and her second husband, James Lewis moved to Wells Point, Texas and made their home on a farm of 22 acres of property where they enjoyed the country life to tend to their farm animals and cattle and bulls. They both enjoyed living the country life like they did when they were growing up in the country.

In 2011 after 33 years of country life, they moved back to Watauga, Texas to be close to their two daughters and grandchildren. Irene‘s favorite hobby was planting her big garden every spring time. She always had a beautiful garden every year. She had such a green thumb she could grow anything she planted in the garden.

Her pride and joy was her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She loved spending time with all her family at family get togethers on birthdays and holidays. She loved to cook big meals for her family, she put so much of her love into cooking and baking for her family.

Everyone in our family loved her specialty of cherry dump cake and her awesome biscuits and gravy and fried chicken. She was an amazing cook. Irene was a simple country girl at heart. She did not care about fancy things in life.

Mama, your family will miss you greatly. We all honor you and cherish you forever.

Mama have an amazing time in heaven with Jesus and your family there.

You are pain-free now, and walking in the streets of gold in heaven, and you have your own mansion, you are now rejoicing with all the angels.

Mama, thank you for being the best mom and the best Memaw ever. We will see you again when the time comes for us to be with you again. We all love you mama so much.
