After battling Alzheimer’s for the last few years, Cora Lou (Corie) Ewing went to Heaven Friday April 8th.
Born and raised in Georgia, she was the consummate southern lady blessed with high intelligence, great humor, & lots of people to love. She would never go out without full makeup, hair done, & dressed “sharp’’ as our dad would say.
She chose to work as a manager at Centex until age 71, & then taught adult literacy for 10 years after retirement. She completed 12 years of Bible Study Fellowship, & raised all of us to know the Lord personally.
Always the quintessential matriarch, she didn’t hesitate being involved in all our lives and was quick to raise an eyebrow and tell us if something was out of line or if we were being “tacky.”
She adored her three girls and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Steve Fogle, Roxanne and Bill Cothern, and Heidi & David Sweet and was always proud of her six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Although it will be odd to continue life without Mom/Corie, we all rejoice that she is whole and happy and living her best life ever!
