Cruz Esther Garcia

JOSHUA-Cruz Esther Garcia passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at the age of 80.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
Interment: Esther will be laid to rest in Skyvue Memorial Gardens.
Esther was born Sunday, May 7, 1939 to the late Gabriel Garcia Cardena and Filomena Caraballa Cruz in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She loved sewing, knitting, church, praying the rosary, dancing, Philanthropist, and hanging out with her friends and going to the movies. One time at church, Esther left her purse in the sink and didn’t know that it was a motion sensor faucet which turned on and filled her purse with water. It soaked everything including her lipstick!! She and Jeannie spend the better part of an hour just trying to dry everything out. She was a member of St. Ann’s and helped with the bereavement committee. Esther was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by us all.
Survivors: Daughter, Jeannie Carlson; son in law, Eric Carlson; grandson, Gabriel Carlson; sister, Luz Celeria Figueroa; nieces, Tamara Bobet, Luz Esther Bobet Szkolnik and Dara Bobet; son, Raul Torres; many friends; many adopted grandkids, in the Spanish community she was called Abuelita and the English community she was called Grandma.
