David Clyde McMurphy

SAN ANTONIO — David Clyde McMurphy passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the age of 60.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, in Grace Chapel at Castle Hills Baptist Church, 2220 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78213, Pastor David George officiating.

David was born in Wiggins, MS on April 10, 1956 to Ezra and Juanita McMurphy. He graduated from Killeen High School and attended college at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. He was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. His career was in real estate.
David and Sharon owned Property Elite Management of San Antonio, TX. He enjoyed reading, going to the Texas Renaissance Festival, family vacations, riding bicycles, telling stories, working out and cooking for the family.
In his younger years, he was an avid sky diver, and he was a sky diving instructor with over 2000 jumps. David always had fond memories of being Glurpo the Clown at Aquarena Springs in San Marcos, TX, during his college days.
David was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by us all.
David is preceded in death by his father, Ezra McMurphy; and his younger brother, Ethan Padgett.
Survivors: David is survived by his wife, Sharon McMurphy; daughter, Lauren McMurphy, of San Antonio; mother, Juanita McMurphy of Huntsville, TX; sister, Angele Jackson of Highlands, TX; nephew, Dusty Pyle and wife, Shelby of Burleson, TX; step-son, Shannon Henderson and wife, Jodi of Spring Branch, TX; step-daughter, Shari Harrison and companion, Missy Moorman of San Antonio, TX.; numerous grandchildren; and many friends.
