David A. Martinez

FORT WORTH — David A. Martinez, loving husband, son, father, grandfather and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the age of 46.
Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Calvary Cathedral Church International, 1701 Oakhurst Scenic Drive, Fort Worth, with Dr. Bob Nichols, the Rev. Robert White and the Rev. Troy Bravenboer officiating. Interment: David will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Directors.

David was born Aug. 24, 1967, in Fort Worth to Jerry and Sarah Martinez. He attended Crowley High School and graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute in 2004 with an associate’s degree of practical theology. He had a passion for photography and the great outdoors that he saw as God’s splendor. David was a man loved by so many. Everyone who knew him was touched by his life and faith in God. He was joyful and bold with unyielding trust in the Lord. He was a soul winner with a heart filled with the fire of the Holy Ghost and spent his time witnessing to the lost and praying for the well-being of others. He was a worshipper with passionate love for Jesus Christ. Many remember him for his infectious laughter and “whoo!” David loved his wife and family and was a pillar of strength who gave his all for the Kingdom of God. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but we rejoice in his homegoing, knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven. He has the victory!
Survivors: Loving wife, Jenna Martinez; son, James Craig Payne and wife, Meghan; mother, Sarah King and husband, Grady; father, Jerry Martinez and wife, Gloria; stepdaughter, Angelina Pena; stepson, Anthony Quesenberry; grandson, Sterling Payne; stepsisters, Cynthia Casados, Renee Casados and Maria Sides; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
