In Loving Memory of Dennis James Leonard
Sunday, June 29, 1949 – Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Dennis James Leonard, born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Gilbert and Goldie Leonard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 with his beloved wife, Shirley, holding his hand—proving that even in his final moments, he knew how to make an exit with style and love.
Dennis lived a life full of stories, laughter, and a few lucky slot machine wins (and losses, but we won’t talk about those). As a manager in the hotel and restaurant business, he made sure others’ travels were smooth—though his own travel often led to the nearest fishing hole, casino, or garage sale. Whether casting a line, chasing jackpots, or hunting for hidden treasures at yard sales, Dennis approached every adventure with a twinkle in his eye and a grin ready to share.
But Dennis’s true calling was behind the bar, where he served more than just drinks—he served stories, smiles, and probably a little unsolicited advice. Bartending wasn’t just his job; it was his passion. He had a knack for making strangers feel like old friends and knew exactly when someone needed a cocktail or just a listening ear.
Dennis leaves behind a legacy of humor, heart, and a reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed, one good laugh (or one good bargain) at a time. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Raise a glass in his honor, drop a coin in the slots for luck, and remember Dennis with a smile—just the way he would have wanted.
