FORT WORTH-Donald Charles Miller Jr. lost his long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
Inurnment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Don was born in Oneida, New York on August 4, 1947. He graduated from Vernon, Verona, Sherrill High School in 1966. Don enlisted in the US Army in the fall of 1966 and served his country until he was honorable discharged in 1972. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was employed by Oneida Ltd. Silversmiths from the time he graduated high school until he no longer could perform his duties due to his disease in 2004. He worked his way up in the company from mail room clerk to master tool & die maker, a position he held until his retirement.
After his retirement, he became a professional photographer and won many awards for his photos. He was a life member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He held many offices in both organizations including Commander of the Sherrill American Legion winning the Top Post Commander for 2004-2005 and became a member of the Honor Guard of the Sherrill American Legion to show his respect and to honor his fallen comrades. He was a member of the Alvarado VFW, American Legion and Motorcycle Group until his passing.
Don fought his battle with Parkinson’s for over 40 years and survived against all odds many complications along the way. He fought that battle right to the very end.
Donald Miller was a force to be reckoned with, he made a memorable impression on everyone he met. He was loved and respected by his fellow members, family and friends, and will be deeply missed.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Miller Sr. and Rose Kelly Miller Bergman; and step-daughter, Corrine Wheeler.
Survivors: Loving wife of 40 years, Cheri Jones Miller; daughter, Megan Miller and son-in-law, Dan Skelton; daughter, Kirsten Miller; grandchildren, Kaili (great-grandson, Greyson), Kaidan, Kaleb, Kole, and Lily; step-grandchildren, Austin Roberts (great-granddaughter, Arabella Grace) Cody Roberts; siblings, Patricia Lowery(Mike), Robert Miller, Kelly Miller, Nancy Gosnell(James), Eric Bergman(Gale), Scott Bergman, Jeffery Bergman(Leah); brother-in-law, Richard Jones(Kelly); brother-in-law, Christopher Jones(Penny); sister-in-law, Jennifer Jones(Kris); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
