FORT WORTH-Donna Melton passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the age of 77.
VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 at Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home.
Donna was born Sunday, January 7, 1945 to the late Charlie and Dorothy Wilson in Mansfield, Texas. She attended and graduated as valedictorian from Trimble Tech, Class of 1963. She worked at Indian Center as an accountant in Fort Worth. She also worked at the Haltom City Police Department and Richland Hills Police Department. Donna loved to teach reading to younger children, which led her to become the Founder of Read-to-Win at Hazel Harvey Peace Elementary School. She loved playing golf in the Rockies, bowling (so much that she went bowling after the Judge pronounced her and David as husband and wife), spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She played Nerf gun wars with the grandkids and great grandkids. She was a fun loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Sampson; and sister, Linda Kay Taylor.
SURVIVORS: Husband of 39 years, David Melton; son, Mike Sampson and wife, Cathy; sister, Janet Coulter and husband, Bobby; nephews, Robert and Travis Coulter; nieces, Tammy Dean and Tanya Wilson; grandson, Luke Sampson and wife, Tiffany; grandson, Johnny Sampson and wife, Britney; grandson, Mark Sampson and wife, Lisa; grandson, Matthew Sampson; and 10 great grandchildren.
