Doristene (Stene) Brown Bryant was born on July 2, 1950. She was the third of 11 children born
to the union of Quilla, Sr. and Willie Mae (Wade) Brown in Lee County, Texas.
She attended school in Giddings, TX and graduated from Giddings High School in 1968. She
attended and was baptized at the Bethel Union Baptist Church in Giddings.
Doristene was married to the late Ronald Neff Bryant and was the mother of four children,
Sherry Nicole, Roderick Jerome, Raylon Desmoines, and Janice Lanay.
Doristene was afforded the opportunity to travel. Among the many places she resided were the
Philippines, Syracuse, NY, and Buffalo, NY before finally making her home in Fort Worth, TX.
She was employed at the Austin State School and the Fort Worth State School. In addition, she
spent many years working as a health care aide in Giddings, Austin, and Fort Worth. She later
began working as a home health care aide in Fort Worth where she provided attentive care to
her clients.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, cooking, watching Lifetime movies and was a huge
fan of WWE wrestling. During her final years at the senior living center where she resided, she spent
time playing games and enjoying the company of friends she met at the center.
Stene's earthly life ended on January 2nd, 2024 after battling an illness for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Neff Bryant; parents Quilla and Willie Mae
Brown; two brothers, Quilla Brown, Jr., and Kenneth Wayne Brown; and one sister, Cynthia Ann
Hunter.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Sherry, Jerome (Shauna), Raylon (Leroy), and
Janice all of Fort Worth; four granddaughters, Kendis Amber, Imanii, Araye, and Kia of Fort
Worth; and two great grandchildren, Armontaye and Railey; two brothers; Ornnie Ray of Fort
Worth and Kelvin (Stacy) of Liberty Hill; five sisters; VanEtta (Roger) of San Antonio, Elaine of
Giddings, Eva (Robert) of Manor; Berna (Larry) of Round Rock and Alisa of Giddings; and a
host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
There will be a family ceremony at Giddings Cemetery in Giddings Texas.
