Dorothy Dean Norris

October 18, 1925 — October 1, 2023

Dorothy Dean Norris (nee Mirts), 97, of Euless, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2023. She was born in Fulton, Missouri. Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Dorothy's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children, Judy Norris, Carson Norris, and Pamela Anslem, with a passion. She delighted in her grandchildren, Matt Norris, Megan McCullough, Devin Handy, Jerod Anslem, Zane Norris, and Cade Anslem, and her multiple great-grandchildren. Dorothy's husband of 65 years, Bill Norris, preceded her in death in Jan 2011. Bill was the love of her life and her reunion with him is a blessing.

Dorothy was a true artist. She was a skilled seamstress; a chef whose home-cooked country meals made all our mouths water; and a gardener with a green thumb who could grow both vegetables and flowers of all types. One of Dorothy's cherished memories was the four years she and Bill spent stationed with the family on the Air Force Base in Bitburg, Germany. Traveling and camping throughout Europe in the red and white VW bus is a memory none of us will forget.

Dorothy retired from the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District where she served as a school cafeteria manager.

Dorothy leaves behind the greatest generation's legacy of family devotion, strength, and a sense of duty. She has passed that on to the next generation.

At Dorothy's request, no memorial service will be held. She will be laid to rest at the Dallas- Forth Worth National Cemetery, with her beloved husband, Bill, in Dallas.
