Elaine was many things to many people. To many she was the kind and generous neighbor, a blessing to those she lived around. Others saw the talented painter, sharing her love of arts and crafts. A sweet and wonderful friend who spoke kind words about others. She had the heart of a missionary, wanting others to know about Jesus. She was an entrepreneur and interior designer. She loved being in and near the water. She had the gift of hospitality, hostess events, parties and get togethers. She was an Elvis fan. She enjoyed worshipping and singing to the Lord. She was a devoted prayer warrior, who interceded for her family and others. She loved giving encouraging, uplifting words through texts, phone calls and Facebook.
To her family she was sister, mom, Mimi and great-Mimi, Aunt Elaine and cuz. She was the one who gave them the love for eating Oreos, putting peanut butter on waffles and pancakes, cooking, painting, playing games, and swimming. Elaine was always looking for a new adventure, whether that was a new outfit, a new car, a new house or a new address in another state. She once made the comment, “I love going on vacation, I just take all my stuff with me!”
To the heavenly Father she was His child because she had a relationship with his son Jesus. He was her comfort in times of sadness, joy in times of sorrow, and peace in times of turmoil. Jesus was her source of wisdom, advocate for justice, and intercessor before the Father.
Elaine has made her last move and we know exactly where she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Sherman Richards and Evelyn Jeanette Richards and daughter Leslee E. Buchanan.
