OVILLA-Emma Jean Nance passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 85.
Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Inurnment: 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, Lane 3, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Emma was born to the late Arthur Ray and Annie Mae Martin on Sunday, July 29, 1934, in Post, Texas.
She attended school from Kindergarten to graduating high school in Ropesville. She attended Howard Payne University after graduating from high school. Emma was a Medical Records Director at West Rest Haven for many years. She was a proud military spouse of 20 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church and sang in the choir and also taught Sunday School. Emma was a baker and loved to decorate cakes. She loved knitting and crocheting and would teach anyone the art if they were interested. Emma had a smile that would calm the angriest person. She loved working puzzles, learning something new or teaching something to someone. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and will always be remembered for her smile and infectious laugh. She will be deeply missed by all.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Rachel Lynn Nance; brother, Billy Ray Martin; sister, Dorothy Martin; sister, Betty Rogers; and sister, Nancy Thedford.
Survivors: Loving husband of 67 years, Fred Nance Jr.; daughter, Dixie Kathleen Trowell and husband, Larry; daughter, Deborah Kay Blackwell and husband, Claude; son, Danny Fred Nance; son, Randy Lynn Nance and wife, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Katrina Page and husband, Carl; grandson, Aaron Trowell and wife, Christine; grandson, Stephen Blackwell and wife, Robin; granddaughter, Rusty McLaurin and husband, Wade; grandson, Randy Trowell; granddaughter, Crystal Blackwell; granddaughter, Jessica Cassell and husband, Matt; grandson, Ian Nance and fiancé, Makenzie; granddaughter, Taylor Scott; granddaughter, Emma Nance; and 13 great grandchildren.
