Esther LaVerne Rider left this life and went home to heaven on August 4, 2022 after 95 years of adventure. She was born in Springfield, Arkansas on March 31, 1927 during a torrential rainstorm that she often said was a prelude for much of her later life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Amos Lockhart, her mother, Gladys Stacks, her sisters Marvelle Givens and Ruth Mahanes and her beloved husband Joe Ben Rider.
She is survived by her son, Gary Eugene Rider, is wife Mary Rider, and six grandchildren, Angelique Michelle Mitchell, Robyn Noel Rider, Randy Gary Rider, John Patrick Lombard,
Marie Elizabeth Rider, Mimi Kristina Rider and seven great grandchildren – Travis Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell, Cosmo Mitchell, Wyatt Lombard, Benjamin Lombard, Adam Rider and Austin Rider.
Esther often preferred to use her middle name LaVerne with friends and acquaintances.
She was an artist who loved to paint, always finding new arts and crafts projects to undertake and explore. If it didn’t move it would be deco-podged.
Services will be on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Brown, Owens and Brumley Funeral Home, 425 Henderson Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m.
