FORT WORTH-Felipa Longoria Guerrero passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 68.
Celebration of life and visitation: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Felipa was born Wednesday, July 4, 1951 to the late Adelaido M. and Josefa Farias Longoria in La Villa, Texas. She attended Edcouch-Elsa High School, Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, Trinity College in Washington, DC and Colegio Jacinto Trevino Mercedes, Tx. Felipa volunteered with local schools and local charities during her college years. She was involved in social activism for human rights and organizations like the AFLCIO. She was also actively involved in the nationally publicized 1968 Edcouch-Elsa student walk out. Felipa worked with LaVilla ISD for many years. She loved sewing, painting, working puzzles, photography, dancing and reading. Felipa was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by us all.
Felipa is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonardo Guerrero; brothers, Domingo Longoria and Alberto Longoria; and sister, Beatriz Vigil.
Survivors: Son, Leo Guerrero and wife, Adriana; daughter, Sulema Guerrero and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Leo Guerrero, Vivian Guerrero, Alysia Guerrero, Abigail Guerrero and Christian Guzman; brothers, Martin Flores, Manuel Longoria and Teodoro Longoria; sisters, Mary Leal, Andrea Uncapher and Ruby Longoria; and numerous friends.
