Florence Maxine McGhee

FORT WORTH-Florence Maxine McGhee, a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Covington, Texas led by Pastor Marc Burnett Sr.
INTERMENT: Covington Cemetery in Covington, Texas.
Maxine was born July 20, 1930, in Summerland, Mississippi to the late Arledge Chester Powell and Valley Grace McKinley. She attended school in So-So, Mississippi and later studied to be a nurse near New Orleans where she met her late husband Harvey Wilkes “Buddy” McGhee Jr. Maxine married Buddy on June 2, 1951, in Biloxi, Mississippi. They later moved to Texas to start their family.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.W. McGhee; brother, Joseph Powell; son-in-law, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Lea; and grandson, Travis.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Linda; daughter, Deborah; son, Douglas; grandchildren, Danny and wife, Cecelia; Kasandra; Jarrod; Amberly and husband, Jace; Ashlea; Brandon and wife, Delinda; Magen and husband, Brett; Kraig and wife, Heather; and Sonny and wife, Audrey; great-grandchildren, Tanner; Kassie and husband, John; Valerie and wife, Kallie; Chandler; Angie; Jacob; Noah; Aaron; Daulten; Joleigh; Noralee; Natalea; Jaxon; Layton; Addison; Victoria; Colt; Tate and Harlyn; and great-great granddaughter, Izabelle; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hardisty.
