Fred Nance Jr.

OVILLA-Fred Nance Jr. passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 89.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 12 P.M. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 320 E. Ovilla Road, Red Oak, Texas 75154
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10 A.M. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Fred was born March 11, 1932 to the late Fred and Willie Nance in Biardstown, Texas. He proudly served our country by enlisting in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged as Technical Sergeant (E-6) in 1971. He served in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He worked at the United States Postal Service, Consolidated Air, Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems and Raytheon Technologies.
Fred could befriend anyone he met. He had the ability to make you feel like the most important person in the room. He also had the ability to slow down and enjoy the moment. Fred and Jean enjoyed vacationing with family. They were intentional with their love and time. He loved woodworking, golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening, drinking coffee, going to airshows, but especially spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Emma Jean Nance; daughter-in-law, Rachel Lynn Nance; brothers, Wallace Nance, Weldon Nance and Dewey Nance; and sister, Dixie Thorne.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Dixie Kathleen Trowell and husband, Larry; daughter, Deborah Kay Blackwell and husband, Claude; son, Danny Fred Nance; son, Randy Lynn Nance and wife, Elizabeth; brother, Frank Nance and wife, Peggy; granddaughters, Katrina Page and husband, Carl, Rusty McLaurin and husband, Wade, Crystal Blackwell, Jessica Cassell and husband, Matt, Taylor Scott and Emma Nance; grandsons, Aaron Trowell and wife, Christine, Stephen Blackwell and wife, Robin, Randy Trowell and Ian Nance; and 14 great grandchildren.
