Gene Max Kibler beloved Father, brother and friend passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Gene is survived by his wife Irene (Boisvert) Kibler of 67 years and his four children - sons Steven (Lori), Richard (Dorothy), Douglas (Judy), and daughter Kathryn (Britt), 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in New Hampshire, Montana, and Illinois, and many friends in North Carolina.
Gene was born in Wheeler, Ill in 1934 and grew up on a farm in Newton, Illinois. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 where he spent 3 years on the destroyer USS Beatty until 1956. It was during this time he met Irene. Gene went on to attend the University of Illinois where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1960. He started his career with Texas Eastman in Longview, Texas. He was employed at Pfizer/ADM in Terre Haute, IN and Wilmington, NC until he retired in 1997.
Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and had many reunions at the beaches in North Carolina. Over the years his skill in woodworking was showcased in the beautiful cabinetry and furniture he designed for his homes. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and bridge. The highlight of his life was singing in St. Mark's choir in Wilmington for 30 years.
A Mass of Resurrection for Gene will be held May 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church Chapel, 3313 Dryden Road, Fort Worth,Texas.
A Veteran's burial will be held May 13, 2024 at 02:15 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas,
Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or charity of your choice.
