Genevieve Garrett Studer was born Oct. 9, 1941, in Wichita Falls to the late Jasper Ben Garrett and Gladys Marie Powell Garrett. As a child, she lived in many places in Texas and Colorado. The family settled in Fort Worth where she met the man who would become the love of her life. At age 14, she and Bobby eloped to Love County, Okla. This union was blessed with three children by birth and two adopted by heart. They built a devoted Christian home which still stands. At the age of 15, she was baptized into Christ by Brother Paul Nichols. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ congregation in Mineral Wells.
One of her greatest joys in life was doing for others. She was a wonderful homemaker whose home was always open. Another of her greatest joys was spending time with and sharing her faith with all of Marmee’s kids. In later years, as her health declined, her medical caregivers would marvel at her attitude and resilience. She would always share the reason-her faith. Whatever this life brought her way she always put her trust in God and prayed His will be done in all things.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 49 years, Bobby Glen Studer; and her sister-in-law, Sheryn Garrett.
