FORT WORTH — Gloria Saenz Vijil was called home by our Lord and Savior when heaven needed another angel on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the age of 73.
Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 100 S. W. Alsbury Road, Burleson 76028. Interment: Gloria will be laid to rest in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Gloria Saenz Vijil was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Sanderson to Barbara Gonzalez Valles and Pedro B. Saenz. Gloria Saenz married Oscar Vijil on Sept. 25, 1965, in Monahans.
We will all miss that infectious smile, her generous heart and her eagerness to make sure we were all well fed. She has left behind many hearts that mourn her absence.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro B. Saenz; stepfather, Pablo S. Valles; stepmother, Ignacia Saenz; and sister, Yolanda Ordonez. We are positive they are all catching up on everything as they enjoy the splendor of heaven.
Survivors: Loving husband of 50 years, Oscar Vijil; son, Ruben Vijil; daughter, Sylvia V. Fortson and husband, Steve; mother, Barbara Gonzales Valles; grandchildren, Jami Fortson, Jayson Fortson and Nathan Vijil and wife, Christina; great-grandchildren, Cali Fortson, Jax Fortson and Logan Vijil; sister, Amelia Sanchez and husband, Tino; sister, Irene Dominquez; sister, Elsa Alaniz; brother, Pablo Valles and wife, Denise; brother, Joe David Saenz; brother-in-law, Henry Ordonez; numerous nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her; and many friends.
