FORT WORTH — Horace Edward “Cowboy” Burnett passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at the age of 75.
Celebration of life: Noon Saturday at Greater Eleazar Baptist Church, 5027 Sunshine Drive, Fort Worth, with Pastor Robert E. Dowell officiating. Interment: Horace will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Wake: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown, Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home.
Horace was born June 17, 1939, to the late Guy and Josephine Burnett in Hillsboro. Cowboy, as his friends and co-workers called him, was dearly loved, admired and respected by many and will be missed by all and especially the staff at Accucare Mortuary and Brown Owens & Brumley.
Survivors: His loving wife of 34 years, Ada Burnett; son, Horace Burnett Jr.; stepson, James L. Buchanan and wife, Evette; daughters, Paula Burnett, Anita Joe Burnett and Benita Burnett; stepdaughters, Charlotte Carroll and husband, Andre’, Pamela Parker and husband, Harwetha, Wanda Brooks and Angela Thomas and husband, Cletis; 14 grandchildren and one very special granddaughter, Sharonda Warren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister; and many, many friends.
