J. M. “Sonny” Brownlee (1935 – 2013)

FORT WORTH — J.M. “Sonny” Brownlee, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the age of 77.
Celebration of life: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Brown, Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Sonny was born Sept. 12, 1935, to the late German and Ruth Brownlee in Wingate. He proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and was a union rep for the Carpenters Union Local #1822. Sonny was a longtime member and Master Mason of Tarrant Lodge #942.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the outstanding care and compassion given by Main Street Home Health and Compassionate Care Hospice.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack, Jeff, Ray, Arlin and Ed; and sisters, Billie, Bonnie and Virginia.
Survivors: Loving wife of 37 years, Janie Brownlee; son, Keith Brownlee; daughters, Casey Beck and Kresha Suniga and husband, Michael; sisters, Lenda Armstrong, Glenda Foy and husband, David, Peggy Castleberry, June Biggers and Ann Duncan; adopted sisters, Charlotte Coffey and Sam Walden; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends.
