James D. “Mac” McDonald

EULESS — James D. “Mac” McDonald, known to his family as Jim, passed away Monday morning, March 28, 2016, as a result of a motorcycle accident at the age of 64.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel with a procession to Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery following the service. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
James was born July 26, 1951, to Jack and Delpha Jean McDonald in Burlington, Iowa. He moved with his family to Hurst in 1954 and had been in Texas since then. Jim proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. Jim met and fell in love with the love of his life and married Wanda, not once, but twice. He followed in his father’s footsteps and served as a fireman and paramedic for 45 years and retired with the rank of captain. Jim traveled the world, visiting and working in 29 different countries. In addition, he started three different successful businesses. His greatest passion was his motorcycles. He loved to ride and be free. Jim touched many lives and will be missed by his family and an abundant amount of friends.
Survivors: Loving wife, Wanda McDonald; sister, Marsha Thomas; sister, Beverly Person and husband, Greg; brother, John McDonald and wife, Kelly; brother, Chase McDonald; nieces, Wendy Niedringhaus, Adrienne Person, Rebecca Person, Lynsey McDonald and Ashlynn Hooker; nephews, Erik Person, Bill Thomas, James Thomas, Dustin McDonald, Stewart Person and Joshua Hooker; daughter, Roni Mathis; stepdaughter, Autumn Osmani; grandchildren, Joshua Mathis, Caitlin Alvarado, Sterling Mathis and Naomi Merrill; three great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.
