FORT WORTH — James Henry Schelper, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, Dec. 8, 2014.
Service: Committal service at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
James was born in San Antonio to the late Max and Beryl Schelper. He had a passion for many things, including the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for 22 years before retiring, in addition to achieving the honor of an Eagle Scout. He also loved trains and was eager and happy to volunteer for Amtrak Railways. James received a degree as a system analyst from the University of Hawaii.
He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Survivors: Daughters, Vanessa Griffith and husband, John, Kirsten Simenson and husband, Jim, and Melissa Griffith, and their mother, Faye Nelson, and Victoria Wilson and husband, Brian, and Erin Phillips and husband, Nick, and their mother, Teri Moore; sister, Patricia Sinclair; brother, Scott Schelper and wife Cecilia; 13 grandchildren; aunt, retired U.S. Army Maj. Anna Schelper; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
