FORT WORTH — James “Jim” Sonnen passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at the age of 71.
Memorial service: 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel, Pastor Mike Haley officiating.
Jim was born Oct. 7, 1943, to the late Carl and Emma Sonnen in Abilene. He was a former board member of Tarrant Food Bank. Jim was president and owner of Sonnen Services for 19 years. Jim enjoyed the outdoors and barbecuing.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and will always be remembered for his love of others and putting them first. Jim was well respected and will be deeply missed by everyone.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Byron Greaves.
Survivors: Wife of 29 years, Amparo Sonnen; children, James Sonnen and wife, Kim, Cecilia Ann Trevino and husband, Joe, twin brothers, Mark Cecil Sonnen and Michael Patrick Sonnen, Jon David Sonnen and wife, Michelle, and Jaime Ruiz; grandchildren, Nikki Taylor, Naci Atchley, Nathan Sonnen, Joseph Trevino, Caleigh Sonnen and Hunter Townsend; great-grandchildren, Peyton Taylor, Emma Taylor, Ceattle Atchley, and baby Atchley who is on the way; brother, Carl Sonnen and wife, Janice; sister, Elizabeth Greaves; brother, Robert Sonnen and wife, Melissa; brother, Jon Art Sonnen and wife, Arlene; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
