BENBROOK–Jeanne Mary Ronan Doogs passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April, 27, 2018.
Graveside service: a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Jeanne was born December 8, 1943 to the late Ralph John Ronan and Mildred Lucille “Millie” Warren Ronan in Saint Louis, Missouri. She graduated high school there in 1961. She was formerly employed by Ralston Purina Company. Her passion was a dance instructor and an avid political researcher. She moved to Texas in the mid 1980’s and married Cletus William “Clete” Doogs in 1986. She was active in the 1992 presidential campaign for H. Ross Perot and represented him in the statewide Texas elections. In 1999, she met up with Doris “Granny D” Haddock in west Texas and completed the walking journey that was started at the Pacific Ocean beaches in California and ended at the Atlantic Ocean beaches in Washington DC in order to promote election reform. A stray dog (a mixed Terrier) started walking along with them in west Texas and completed the journey too. The dog became known as Doris Junior (named after “Granny D”) and became known as “D.J.”. Jeanne loved dogs virtually all her life – Tony,Tori, Bluebonnet, Little Deer, Diana, and “D.J.” which was her favorite, and lived with her until 2015.
Jeanne was an incredible lady and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Rest in Peace, Jeanne.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband “Clete”.
