Jesus Alfonso Chavira, passed away May 20, 2023, after a long fight with cancer but kept a smile on his face to the end. Born December 24, 1963 in Valerio, Chihuahua, Mexico.
He was extremely smart, talented and knowledgeable. He spent many years as a cook in various restaurants, spent twenty plus years with Appleton Painting and most of the last two decades working for himself as a painter, remodeler and doing restorations for both residential and commercial properties. He happily shared his knowledge in these areas with any that were willing to learn.
He loved his family and would do anything he could for them. He enjoyed spending his evenings outside by the fire surrounded by his family and friends talking laughing and listening to music, if he wasn't working on any number of project cars he had. One was just as likely to hear him singing along to Corridos as the latest pop or rap songs in between the jokes and funny stories he would share. He loved to smile and would do what he could to see those around him smile as well.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sra. Maria Marina Chavira Lopez and grandmother, Sra. Ana.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Beth Fannin, his daughter Ana Marina Chavira, step daughters Nicole Leal and Sarah Castleberry, numerous grandchildren, his brothers; Hugo Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza and Andres Mendoza and his uncle Socorro Chavira.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at All Saint's Episcopal Church, followed by a luncheon at Uncle Julio's.
