FORT WORTH-Joe Barry Brister passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the age of 70 with his family by his side.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Visitation: Visitation will be held at a later date at the funeral home.

Barry was born Saturday, October 15, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Joe Barry Brister and Mamie Ruth Cooper Rogers.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Donna for 48 ½ years; a fantastic father to his son, Kier Allen Brister; “Strawbarry” to his grandson, Liam; Bubba to his brothers and sisters-in-law; and a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Barry graduated from Pasadena High School in Pasadena, Texas and attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas from 1968 – 1972 where he met his wife, Donna. They were married in 1971. He also received two associate degrees from Tarrant County College.
He worked for Haliburton Services for 26 ½ years and was transferred to Fort Worth from Houston in 1989. He later had several jobs related to oilfield services and retired in 2015. Barry loved God, his family, The Beatles, traveling, photography, “Big Bang Theory”, James Bond, and reruns of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Survivors: Wife, Donna Brister; son, Kier Brister and wife, Kelly; grandson, Liam Giles; one niece; four nephews; and countless cousins that he considered his brothers and sisters.
