FORT WORTH–Joe Willie McClellan was born in Palestine, Texas on March 9, 1934 to Hester Pearl(Young) and Smith McClellan. He passed from this life to the next on January 28, 2018.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
He is survived by his 5 children born to his union to Inez West, Tommy McClellan of Bakersfield, California; Etta Pearl McClellan of Hampton, Virginia; Barbara Ammons and Son-in-law Ricky Ammons of Hampton Virginia, Ricki McClellan of Chesterfield, Virginia and Gregory McClellan of Hampton, Virginia. He also leaves behind two sisters Mary Edwards of Burleson, Texas and Shirley Harris of Fort Worth, Texas and step daughter, Barbara Gatewood of Fort Worth, Texas. Joe Willie was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Lovie, Amy, David, Elizabeth, Matthew, Theresa, Cory (deceased) Christopher, Steffon, Gregory Jr. and Jacqueline; step-grandchildren, Scott, Meredith, Daniel and wife, Emily along with their two children; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Joe Willie will be remembered for his fishing, carpentry, truck ownership and his unique sense of humor. No one could make you laugh like Grandpa Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Marie McClellan of 43 years; his parents, Hester Pearl and Smith McClellan; and 2 brothers, James and Matthew McClellan; grandson, SSG. Cory McClellan; step-daughter, Weslea Conroy and stepson-in-law, Lloyd Gatewood.
