BURLESON-John Andrew Brooks, Jr., 88, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2022 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. Please arrive at the cemetery by 9 a.m. so that everyone will be ready to line up at 9:15 to proceed to the gravesite.
John was born Thursday, December 21, 1933 to the late John Andrew and Lavina Edith Brooks in Shannon, Texas. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Navy. John was raised with six sisters and one brother. He worked in Civil Service at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas and at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gospel music. He enjoyed people and was loved by many. John loved the Lord with all his heart and we are sure it was joyful for him to see Heaven. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 44 years, Donita Brooks; daughter, Beth Caldwell and husband, Tim; son, Tony Richardson and wife, Susan; daughter, Ronda McMann and husband, Dean; brother, W.L. “Bill” Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
