ARLINGTON-John VanLoon Moore passed away Tuesday, February 4,2020 at the age of 70.
Celebration of life: 9 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Umlauf Gardens, Austin, Texas.

John was born Friday, August 5, 1949 to John and Elizabeth Moore in Urbana, Illinois. He attended State College High School, and graduated from General HH Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany. He attended the University of Maryland in Munich and graduated from University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland with BA, Paralegal Institute in Philadelphia, received MBA from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin. John founded and cofounded multiple businesses, including a Paralegal Practice in State College, Pennsylvania, Database Publications in Austin, Texas, and in the Wildlands in Golden, Colorado. He worked in Database Marketing for several different companies, including Harvard Business School at Harvard University, and Comerica Bank Corporate in Dallas, Texas.
John was a Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts and a Scout leader, and Rotary International. He served six years in the National Guard. He loved hiking, camping, traveling, skiing and sailing. He was an ultimate entrepreneur, loved his family, friends and adventure. He adored the outdoors and had a vast range of interest. He will probably be remembered most for his wit and concern for others.
Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Barbara Reeves Moore; daughter, Sara Elizabeth Moore McEachern and husband, James; grandson, Mitchell Duncan McEachern; granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth McEachern; son Douglas John Moore and wife, Katie Lynn; granddaughter, Carson Abigail Moore; granddaughter, Zoe Arlene Moore; granddaughter, Erin Renee Moore; mother, Elizabeth Crouch Manahan; sister, Janet Elizabeth Moore; niece, Elizabeth Warren and husband, Setti; niece, Abigail Plummer; nephew, Alexander Plummer; sister, Victoria Mishcon and husband, Jon; niece, Hillary Mishcon; nephew, Samuel Mishcon; and many friends.
