Jonathan Wayne Evans Jr. passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at the age of 33. Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel. Interment: Jonathan will be laid to rest in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane B. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the memorial fund set up for David Michael Evans with the check made payable to Jon Evans and mail to Worthington National Bank, 200 W. Main St., Arlington, Texas 76010, 817-303-5902. Jonathan was born Oct. 28, 1980, to Jonathan Evans and Bobbi Vondra in Fort Worth. Jon was raised in the Fort Worth area and graduated from Trinity High School in Euless. He proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and retired as a sergeant. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. After retirement, he went to Intellitec Institute to study large-engine repair. Jon worked faithfully and successfully to raise his son, David, to have the best manners of any 6 year old. He was teaching David everything he knew about cars. Jon had a great heart and will be deeply missed by all, and will remain in our hearts forever. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbi Vondra, and grandfather, Lewis Evans. Survivors: Father, Jonathan Wayne Evans Sr. and wife, Terri; son, David Michael Evans; former wife and mother of his child, Amanda Evans; brothers, James Evans, Christopher Evans, Brian Evans and Justin Bateman; paternal grandmother, Selma Conley; maternal grandparents, Ed and Barbra Vondra; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
